100-YEAR-OLD SINKING MYSORE SANDALWOOD • Genuine Government Reserve • India

This is for natural untreated RAW WOOD (not oil), properly cleaned and dry aged sandalwood heartwood from 100 year old sinking-grade South Indian grown Santalum album trees from official government reserve. “Sinking” grade refers to the fact that this wood is heavy enough to sink in water, heavier wood also tends to have a greater aromatic density and richness as well, and as such is the most highly prized.  

Typically our customers will choose this wood to be burned solo as incense, or used to make high quality incense blends. Some people also keep attractive pieces of sandalwood as display objects or perhaps will craft art objects, jewelry, or beads from raw sandalwood. These items will slowly emit a gorgeous sandalwood aroma for many years.

This is the same wood we have used to distill some of our very best in-house sandalwood essential oils.

We do our best to give you large, solid, attractive pieces, and as few pieces as possible, based on the size of your order. Generally you will receive 1 or 2 larger pieces to make up the gram weight you’ve ordered. Occasionally we might add a few smaller chips to to up the correct weight.
